Product Manager - Information Product Solutions

As part of an integral team of software and consulting professionals, the Product Manager will work directly with internal and external clients, prospects, product delivery, sales, and marketing and development teams to drive the growth and success of our transformative new business initiative. Working with these groups, the Product Manager will conduct market research to assist with product design, gathering user requirements, and optimizing user experience. The Product Manager will also be responsible for planning and developing marketing strategies and objectives to promote product lines and provide product strategy information to a project manager and/or development team for web product development and enhancements. The Product Manager’s primary responsibility will be to ensure that our products meet the demands of the global marketplace, integrating our various product lines into one seamless client experience. To fulfil this role, the Product Manager will:  Meet with clients, prospects, and other internal and external users of the tools to understand and assess the marketplace needs. Work with various IPS lines of business (LOB) leaders and product managers within IPS, and ultimately across Mercer, to determine the best integration of Mercer LOB offerings that will prove most useful to clients in solving their issues. Work with various business analysts to develop detailed designs and requirements and coordinate with the development manager to create project  plans. Develop and maintain an overall product delivery plan that includes product development, marketing, communications, implementation, support,  and related services. Provide development prioritization for the initiative based upon competing demands. Establish and maintain a “living” product roadmap. Ensure that the specific product vision fits within the overall IPS global product strategy. Establish and maintain market competitor overviews. Identify new technologies and capabilities that put and keep Mercer on the fore-front of technology-enabled client solutions. Effectively communicate plans and strategies to all stakeholders including external users. Work with the steering committee and other stakeholders to develop plans and priorities for future releases. Assist with the coordination and collection of client feedback. Create, coordinate, and publish product-related content for the News and User Forums and monitor end-user discussion boards Speak at national and/or global human resource and technology conferences Bachelors degree in Information Science or Business Demonstrated experience in successfully transforming a multi-line business to a web environment is highly desirable and will be a distinguishing characteristic from other candidates Successful launch of a new, integrated business initiative Experience with portal and business intelligence platforms for client solutions; experience with social networking offerings desirable; ongoing consideration of emerging technologies’ impact on the business environment preferred.
