Product Manager - Livelink Applications

Purpose of Position:
The Product Manager - Livelink Applications is responsible for the full lifecycle management of business applications based upon the Livelink Enterprise Server foundation. She/he works outbound with the Program Managers to ensure the product roadmap can meet the requirements of the business plan and inbound with the respective engineering organisation to define the development path and development priorities.

The Product Manager - Livelink Applications is responsible for a consistent development path of her/his products and efficient use of development resources. She/he acts as the primary escalation point for engineering with respect to implementation options and priority settings. He/she is responsible to meet customer requirements with the feature set implemented while ensuring overarching product goals are met (stability, performance, consistency of implementation).

The Product Manager - Livelink Applications is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of the whole product as opposed to just working code. This includes documentation, best practices, setup of logistics/release engineering, ensuring technical training is developed, enabling for GS, Consulting and Support.

The Product Manager - Livelink Applications is the primary contact for the technical field force in GS and Support. She/he also assists in technical presentations to large clients and beta rollouts. The Product Manager - Livelink Applications works tightly with the Program Managers for the product and solution area to ensure product/solution specification and delivery timing meet the committed roadmap.

• Product Planning
o Develop and Maintain the Product Roadmap
o Develop and Maintain the Version Specifications
o Delivery Planning Process and engineering resource prioritization
• Manage the whole product
o Product delivery planning
o Ensures availability of technical training
o Key Customer Projects
o Ensures GS, Consulting & Support Enabling
• Special Assignments
o Participates in key customer projects
o Manages the beta program
o Provides technical whitepapers
o Technical training
o Competitive analysis
o Ensures availability of Demo Versions / VM Ware
• Teams up (and backs up) with Program Manager


Education, Skills and Experience:
• University Education in Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• 5 Years experience in software industry
• Good understanding of software technology. Especially Groupware Systems, Archiving, Records Management
• Good understanding of business processes in large companies
• Good understanding of the compliance issues in large companies
• Proven track record in Project Management
• Excellent Communication skills
• Good Team worker
• Ability to exercise independent judgement
• Ability to lead and work self sufficient
• Motivated Self starter
• Ability to communicate complex technical scenarios in plain language
• Good presentation skills


Travel requirements:
• Up to 20% travel required
