Product Managers at ATG are responsible for defining the future direction of ATG’s industry leading product and solution offerings. This role presents a unique opportunity for highly motivated and talented individuals looking to own and manage pieces of an industry leading product line.
We are seeking product managers who have demonstrated past success and accomplishments and have a desire to be a strong individual contributor. Successful candidates will be adept at bridging the business and technology gap – capable of speaking with both technologists and business managers to bring the right products and solutions to market.
Responsibilities:Interviewing customers to determine their business objectives, understand their technical needs, determine willingness to pay for a solution and identify use cases that illustrate what an ideal and marketable solution would need to accomplish.Writing whole product requirements documents that identify the key features and services necessary to win in the market, use cases that help drive the overall solution definition and product design, personas to ensure that we understand the users of the offering, and cross functional deliverables (services, training, documentation, demos, etc.) needed to drive adoption of the product.Working closely with the product design group and guiding development of product functional specifications for key product componentsManaging the product and solution lifecycle processesPreparing and presenting R&D investment proposals and driving business planningAnalyzing competitor offerings to identify feature differences and determining an appropriate course of actionPublishing competitive briefings and guidelines on how to compete with specific competitors to the sales forceParticipate in sales engagementsAnalyzing customer wins and losses to determine implications for product enhancements
Required Skills/Experience:Ability to marshal and motivate resources to drive projects to completionAbility to think strategically yet act tactically – see the big picture, anticipate competitor moves, project future customer needs, determine ways to “change the game” to outmaneuver our competition and, quite simply, get the most important things done!Ability to truly understand customer needs and not just settle for their wish listAbility to work effectively with engineers – from ATG, our customers, and our partners. Person must be a technologist at heart!Able to adopt a broad view of the business across all functions and product areas to understand how his/her responsibilities fit into the “bigger picture”Analytical, logical and fact-oriented – with the ability to dig deep to uncover all aspects of an issue prior to making a decision.Able to interact with customers and senior level executives Good communicator with public speaking experience Proven experience in delivering/shipping quality commercial projects and/or products on time and on budgetExperience in developing commercial arrangements with third party companies: contracted development agreements, co-development agreements, OEM agreements, co-marketing agreementsA good understanding of the product development cycle, including design, development, testing, documentation, and supportExperience with enterprise software-as-a-service solutions and understanding of the challenges and considerations of the software-as-a-service delivery modelKnowledge and understanding of e-Commerce related applications and SaaS markets including business and technology eco-systems. Knowledge of web personalization, marketing or contact center solutions a plus.
