THE EVERYDAY VIEWThe Product Manager, Tools for DivX owns the business planning process for DivX online content and services. Primary responsibilities will include:
Crafting effective product plans from concept to conclusion in concert with Product Development, Marketing, Finance and senior executives
Managing the product lifecycle of online services, including definition, specification, development, launch and tracking of results
Making trade-off analyses between time, features and resources
Writing concept docs, specifications and descriptions for product features for online services
Developing and managing product development schedules in concert with Engineering, Design, Editorial and other key internal stakeholders
Continuously tracking user metrics
Developing go-to-market and distribution plans in coordination with our Marketing and Business Development teams
Motivating and influencing results across functional business units
Executing against the product roadmap by leveraging resources within a matrix organization
Communicating progress and milestone objectives, achievements and adjustments

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEThe product Manager, Tools will have to be strategic and ambitious, but also pragmatic and realistic. Ideally, the person who fills this position will have the following skills and experience:
7-10 years of experience in product management and/or strategic marketing in Internet services and/or consumer software
Solid knowledge of digital media technologies and internet advertising markets
Experience with web communities, social software and APIs is a plus
Ability to take direct responsibility for product line directions and roadmaps as well as related planning of marketing, sales and engineering resources
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, fluid and fun start-up environment
A high degree of enthusiasm and self-motivation with exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical background
A bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study is required
An MBA is preferred
