Product Marketing Manager - VMware I/O Solutions for Storage and Networking (02977) DescriptionQLogic, a leading supplier of high performance storage networking solutions, has an immediate need for a Product Marketing Manager supporting VMware I/O Solutions for Storage and Networking in our Aliso Viejo, CA corporate headquarters. The primary responsibility of the job is to define & deliver QLogic’s strategy for VMware Inc products to support and enhance storage (Fibre Channel, iSCSI and FCoE) and networking (Ethernet) products and continue to forge a strong technical and strategic relationship with partners.Duties and responsibilities include:• Act as a key point of contact within specified business unit.• Define and drive new features for the Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCoE and Ethernet software.• Involve in all aspects of defining the product features, functionality, licensing agreement, positioning, differentiating and defining the go-to market strategy (OEM, VAR).• Build and maintain knowledge of the SAN and Data Networking market to drive roadmap planning and business strategy.• Technical and strategic relationship with ISVs to ensure alignment with releases of operating systems.• Primary evangelist and champion for QLogic VMware solutions including training, presentations with customers and at major industry events.• Drive and define go-to-market plans and demand generation activities for product line.• Develop sales collateral, training materials, and presentations, for customer activities.• Attend industry trade shows to represent QLogic's products & gain understanding of competitive offerings.Required SkillsRequired Skills• BSCS/EE/CE, MS/MBA and a minimum of 8 years of experience preferrably in the storage area networking (SAN) or Data Networking (Ethernet) or any other relevant industry, with at least 3 of them closely associated with software product marketing.• Networking technologies preferably from prior involvement in a technical engineering role. • Experience with products from companies such as: Microsoft, Veritas, Legato, EMC, HP, IBM, Intel, and Broadcom would be another advantage. Knowledge of storage drivers & firmware. • Must possess an intimate knowledge of the market including market size/opportunity, pricing, and competitive landscape. • Must posses the financial and business capabilities to develop and review business plans to maximize ROI and drive product strategy.• Excellent communications skills & ability to promote business to senior management, customers, partners, and industry press are required.• Travel is expected to trade shows, industry forums, & customer sites.• Data-networking protocols and various OS's & hardware platforms virtualization appliances is highly desirable.• Understanding of Fibre Channel/SAN and/or Ethernet/Data-Networking technologies preferably from prior involvement in a technical engineering role highly desired. • Hands-on experience with SAN storage management software is highly desired.• Any experience with VMware ESX or working with VMware in a current/past role will be a big plus
