Job Description:

 

The Production Support Analyst performs administration of mission critical systems, performing routine tasks such as backups, to supporting and troubleshooting complex technical issues.  At part of the Operations team, this position is for an individual with technical, analytical and problem solving skills/aptitude.

 Job Responsibilities:

 Administration and monitoring of technical infrastructure including servers and network connectivityMaintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systemsGeneral system maintenance and troubleshooting skills, including software and hardware upgrades, networking, installations, patches, scans, updates, backups, wiring, virus protection and error resolutionHardware and software installationTroubleshooting of production incidents including corrective actions and determining root causeParticipate in testing of new applications and system modificationsDatabase administrationOther responsibilities as deemed necessary to support the technical infrastructure 24 x 7 x 365 coverageLimited travel

 

 Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

 Relevant undergraduate degree (i.e. Business, CS, MIS, Math or Stats) or equivalent technical experienceFamiliarity with  Microsoft 2000, Sun Solaris, Linux platforms.Understanding of Relational Database(s) and some SQL (query) skills.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Previous experience in a technical support role.Problem solving skillsAble to work independently and deliver succinct results under pressure.Minimum 2-3 years experience in a relevant technology environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 Knowledge of the credit card or payment processing industryExperience in support of mission critical applicationsAny Microsoft certification is a plus.Knowledge of basic TCP/IP concepts:  DNS, Subnets, routing, firewalls, switchingKnowledge of system monitoring concepts:  snmp, syslog, service and system monitoring
