Position Description

If so, MSN Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Monetization (SEM) and Site Search team could be the perfect match for you! SEO efforts allows for higher ranking search results organically while SEM is the purchase of keywords to increase exposure and traffic. Site Search show cases MSN Content and improves usage and relevancy. Our group also owns KIP, which is the keyword intelligence tool that provides crucial information about user consumption patterns, such as most popular keywords.
This visible critical SEM/SEO/Site Search initiative will drive revenue and traffic for the MSN Media Network from search engines and other external sources globally. This ground floor opportunity will be to pull together the business & technical threads that allow us to achieve these aspirations.


Job Responsibility and Deliverables:
Define technical functional specs for various team deliverables, including SEMTracker, the next generation tools for SEM professionals.  Assist driving the vision and value proposition for team deliverables, including SEMTracker.
Effectively manage new and existing cross-group partnerships
Build efficiencies into existing program management and project management processes
Distill clear technical requirements and specifications from customer driven requirements and request
Define, embrace and extend best practices in project planning and execution

 

SUMMARY: Professional technical team member responsible for overall project quality and timelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Includes, but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·  Manage the implementation of highly complex technical testing projects.

·  Develop test plans and timelines, test specifications, and track results.

·  Ensure quality and timely deliverables.

·  Familiar with current technologies and systems in order to coordinate activities of team.

·  Provide post project analysis.

·  Provide team oversight and may provide team supervision.

·  Establish and manage multiple project workflows.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Lead team to project goals and completion.

 

Required Skills/Background

TECHNICAL SKILLS:Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel. Previous project management experience in software development or consulting services or previous technical leadership experience is required. Strong working knowledge of current market technologies, an understanding of software development cycle and understanding of quality assurance practices, principles and methodologies is required. Ability to work directly with customer onsite.Ability to suggest new and better ways to accomplish tasks.Knowledge of source control management (Source Depot, for instance, although other tools are also ok).Define technical functional specs for various team deliverables, including SEMTracker, the next generation tools for SEM professionals.Assist driving the vision and value proposition for team deliverables, including SEMTracker.Effectively manage new and existing cross-group partnerships.Build efficiencies into existing program management and project management processes.Distill clear technical requirements and specifications from customer driven requirements and request.Define, embrace and extend best practices in project planning and execution.2+ years of SEM experience, preferably in the top 3 Search Engines (Google/Yahoo/AdCenter).Experience in defining or building SEM tools is a big plus.3+ years of experience in end-user-focused feature design, preferably two full commercial product release cycle.Strong technical problem solving skills and be able to work in either C# or C++ and have a solid understanding of web (IIS, ASPX, VBScript, HTML, CSS, XML, and related .NET) technologies.Experience with software engineering processes, testing methodologies, and software development lifecycle (SDLC). SCRUM experience is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Teaming skills: Collaborative leadership; excellent problem solving; Sound conflict resolution skills.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to lead teamsSkilled in test planning & test strategy Ability to read and interpret documents such as process descriptions, procedure manuals, and technical trade journals.Ability to communicate effectively with clients and/or employees of the organization.Ability to negotiate delicate aspects of both small and large project proposals.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Knowledge of deductive reasoning.Ability to travel to client sites.Ability to represent and communicate with a diverse population.Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary information.Ability to analyze business opportunities and develop effective business development strategies.

 

Education/Certification Required

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
