Project Manager - Eastern Region

Purpose of Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the engagement team in design, development and implementation of programs and solutions to meet client's need. While maintaining focus on quality deliverables the Project Manager will effectively manage project tasks and contribute to the improvement of the practice's intellectual capital. The Project Manager would also be responsible for assisting in sales activities, writing contracts, responding to Requests for Proposals, creating estimates for consulting services.
Primary Duties:
- Works as a project leader on various sized (site/location), single or multi-product projects and single or multiple computer environment implementations.
- Acts as a liaison between customers and company.
- Sets project expectations concerning deliverability, project performance, consultant task assignments, costs and time frames.
- Utilizes project management skills of communication, presentation, time management, risk management, cost control/budget management, organization and planning to successfully implement company's products.
- Manages all project resources to perform tasks according to plan.
- Serves as primary project escalation point for issues; resolves conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical project issues.
- Conducts project closeout with client to end engagement and obtain agreement of completed deliverable.
- Prepares and submits weekly project status reports to client and Open Text.
- Responsible for managing budget, change requests and communicating financial status and project activities to client and Open Text.
- Performs re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout project.
- Serves as billable consultant, pre-sales support and post-sales support specialist as required.
Secondary Duties:
- Assists in sales activities when not engaged on projects
- Scoping work for clients and determining best solution approach
- Estimating consulting services
- Creating Statements of Work
- Coordinating and responding to Requests for Proposals
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven proficiency with project planning from initiating, planning, execution, control and closeout.
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills of technical and non-technical resources in complex and challenging development and implementation environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to build relationships with other consultants, customer staff, and sub-contractors.
- Understanding of implementing business systems through the entire software development lifecycle.
- Posses consulting skills, including conducting business needs analysis and understanding of enterprise solutions design.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are critical. As well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal organization across varied business units.
- Livelink experience a plus.
- Minimum 5 years experience in project management is required.
Academic:
- Bachelors or advanced degree with a Business or Technical emphasis or equivalent significant business experience in Project Management.
- Project Mgt. certification or accreditation a plus.
Work Environment:
General office environment. However, work outside of these hours may be necessary due to project schedules, and deadlines. Travel is required (75% to 100%).
