Project Manager II
PFPC is currently seeking a Project Manager II in our Wilmington, Philadelphia, or Valley Forge, PA location. The location is flexible.Job DescriptionOversees various, large systems projects of a complex nature. Responsible for coordinating all phases (from analysis through implementation) of multiple projects. Works in partnership with business unit service partners and other senior members of technology team (e.g., Manager Business system analysis, Application System Manager, Systems Director). The incumbent typically is engaged in projects that cross business units and/or have significant monetary impacts; therefore driving support strategic objectives for the corporation. Defines project scope and objectives. Coordinates and/or develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines of project. Maintains direct contact with business personnel, service partners, software vendors, and/or designated areas. Project management of concurrent projects may be required. Must be familiar with the systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of team members. Leads a staff of programmers and analysts (comprised of individuals within the Business Analysis, Application Systems and Systems Integration job families) in support of business and technology initiatives. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, MIS, and line of business service partners. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Applies project controls (change control, documentation, meeting minutes, etc) in support of delivery objectives. Manages the integration of vendor tasks, and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems. Communicates with Project Stakeholders, Senior business manager(s) and/or senior technology manager (s), regarding status of specific projects. The incumbent must also ensure their job responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with corporate and technology risk management. Required Skills:The ideal candidate will develop, integrate and evaluate new advances in the industry to direct and lead successful results.Understands web technology and is current on development methodology's. Previous hands on experience in JAVA/J2EE technology required.
