Project Manager/System Development

Position Title:  IT Project Manager

Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for project planning and management in accordance with Client's IT Division’s Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards; to ensure delivery of solutions that meet the needs of our internal and external clients.

The position requires a strong leader and an individual with a team oriented approach. The successful candidate will possess the ability to interact and effectively communicate with internal/external clients, development teams, technical support teams, quality assurance teams and senior management.  
 

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Work with internal and external clients to define project scope
•  Author and garner approval of project plans
•  Assess, rationalize and facilitate prioritization of project requests
•  Author and communicate project plans
•  Identify and mitigate project risks
•  Assign departmental resources; track time according to task assignments
•  Manage resource bottlenecks and critical paths
•  Report and monitor key performance metrics
•  Drive project success through the application of project management principles
•  Communicate status updates and issues in a concise and timely manner to Management
•  Support and follow IT standards
•  Act as a catalyst for change and process improvement
•  Identify opportunities for process re-engineering and strategic growth
•  Develop positive working relationships with the business users and IT colleagues
•  Understand the industry specific market environments of each business unit
•  Pursue continuing professional education in the areas of SDLC and Project Management methodology

Qualifications:

•  Clear understanding of project management methodology and respective experience with its application through full project lifecycle
•  Clear understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and respective experience with its application
•  Minimum 7 years relevant experience; Minimum 3 years experience with methodology driven project management in software/system development environment
•  Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects that drive positive results
•  Demonstrated ability to employ diplomacy and strategic thought leadership to effectively resolve challenges and architect solutions
•  Exceptional oral and written communication skills
•  Strong analytical skills with effective attention to detail
•  Strong organization and prioritization skills
•  A team player yet an aggressive self-starter and change agent who needs little supervision and possesses leadership characteristics with a strong commitment to his/her career
•  Experience with organizational design and change management a plus
•  Experience with development environments utilizing the following a plus: C#, VB.net, SQL databases, XML, HTML and web services  
•  BS/BA Degree required; Business Management, Information Technology or Computer Science preferred; Masters Degree/MBA a plus
