Job Description of Copy Editor:

Wireless Generation helps teachers and school administrators improve every child’s learning experience. We’re looking for a proofreader who can help us prevent educators from taking their red pens to our materials. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for typos, understands the importance of correct grammar and corporate style, and enjoys tackling projects with aggressive deadlines.

This is a full-time temporary position. No telecommuters, please.

Responsibilities of Copy Editor:


Proofreading spreadsheets and PDFs for typos, inconsistencies, and grammatical errors.
Enforcing corporate style.
Discussing recommended corrections with authors and project managers.



Requirements of Copy Editor:


Mastery of English grammar and punctuation.
Four-year degree and at least one year’s professional proofreading experience.
Demonstrated copy editing skills (test is administered).
Attention to detail, commitment to producing quality product, respect for deadlines.
Aptitude for proofreading both digital files and paper materials.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat a must; other technical and computer experience a plus.
