Public Relations Director

This position is for an experienced marketing professional with deep specialization in public relations within the computer technology market.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for contributions to the Company’s strategic and tactical marketing plans and messages; and will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Company’s public relations activities.  The Public Relations Director will directly manage the Company’s external marketing agencies and service providers, as assigned. The ideal candidate will have significant experience, expertise and contacts within the computer technology market; have enterprise and start-up work experiences; and will have successfully delivered on initiatives targeted at developers and business executives in SaaS, development and hosting platforms and/or related technology sectors.

 

The PR Director reports to the Vice President of Marketing, and will work directly with a range of internal and external personnel, including the Executive Staff, and peers within the Marketing, Community and Development organizations. This person will also serve as project team lead as assigned by the Vice President of Marketing.

 

Candidates for this role must be willing and able to work from the company’s headquarters in Orem, Utah.

 

Technical Requirements:Demonstrated ability to understand, refine, and communicate the product offerings, goals and messages of the Company.Demonstrated ability to create and execute marketing and communication plans for the introduction of new products, services, strategies, and positioning -- the demonstrated ability to plan and execute the introduction of a new company is very strong plus.Demonstrated ability to ensure messaging and marketing programs rise above competitive noise, positioning and direct attack.Demonstrated ability to think rapidly and creatively, and then communicate effectively – in writing and verbally, and in both small and large group scenarios.Demonstrated track record of handling multiple projects with strong attention to detail, high energy and enthusiasm.Demonstrated ability to effectively define, negotiate and manage the delivery of facility, equipment and service provider contracts.Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with co-workers -- internally and externally; managers, peers and subordinates.Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively assess and resolve problems under public pressure.Demonstrated ability to create, manage and adhere to budget projections.Demonstrated advanced skills in common desktop and web-based productivity software tools and programs.Possesses a long-standing reputation as a self-starter and completes complex marketing deliverables on time, and at or above expectation.Is able to travel regularly and responsibly for the Company.Speaks and writes English fluently at the college graduate level.

 

Professional Requirements:

Preferred professional experience includes: Ten or more years of public relations experience in the computer technology market. Eight or more years of PR management experience of both internal employees and external agencies and service providers. Two or more years at a large corporation, and three or more years at an emerging start-up, high-growth organization.

 

Educational Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or extensive equivalent work experience in Public Relations.
