Public Relations Specialist

Position Description:

The PR Specialist will work closely with the Director of Communications to develop PR campaigns and programs and conduct daily media outreach and response to industry-specific editors. He/She will research publications, online media, and individuals to locate appropriate targets for pitching. He/She will also prepare media lists and draft press releases as well as monitor editorial calendars, blogs, and articles with an eye toward media placement.

Responsibilities
• Develop and manage public relations programs and campaigns.
• Research, write and/or edit press and communications materials, including press releases, articles, letters, web content, marketing copy, talking points, presentations, etc.
• Write case studies about customers highlighting their projects
• Maintain a media metrics tracking and reporting system.
 

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications/PR, Journalism or a related field.
• 3+ years experience in public relations. Technology writing experience a plus.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and prioritize projects.
• Ability to take initiative, plan, prioritize and execute, independently and on deadlines, the completion of all projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be effective in communicating with all levels of management, including executives, outside vendors, customers and media.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain flexibility and work as a team member.
