This hands-on technical position will play a critical role in delivering high-quality functionality-rich business solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.  It will be imperative for this individual to become the subject matter expert in many aspects of the business and technology solutions. This critical role must make our business customers feel as if the ITG team can act “on-behalf” of the business as it relates to validating application functionality and facilitate end-user acceptance of new functionality and systems.

In this capacity, it will be necessary to have extensive hands-on experience/expertise blending manual and automated testing techniques, optimizing test coverage, increasing the quality of testing and shortening QA test cycles.  In addition, a critical component to the success of this role will be acting as a visionary regarding the identification and production of key artifacts produced during the QA phase of a project affecting both up-stream and down-stream work efforts.

 

Most importantly this role provides critical expertise in the identification and development of best-in-class business solutions necessitating them to be an excellent communicator, planner and organizer with a comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies, techniques and tools.RESPONSIBILITIES

· Broad application of software engineering and QA engineering principles, processes, theories, and concepts

· Proven track record of successfully performing extensive automation testing for all types of software products including, at a minimum, business-application GUIs, interfaces, data integrity, batch processes, data conversion, and reports

· Extensive experience writing, reviewing and implementing comprehensive test cases and test plans both for running tests and providing comprehensive test cases for end user scenario-based testing

· Extensive experience creating business-rich test beds used both for running tests and providing comprehensive test data for end user tests

· Experience with commonly adopted test automation tools (e.g., Win/Load Runner, Quick Test, Rational Robot, Silk, JUnit, Clover, and JMeter)

· Experience with commonly adopted defect tracking tools (e.g., Remedy, ClearQuest, Itracker, Jira, Bugzilla, Quality Center, Request Tracker, etc.)

· Provide in-depth testing subject matter expertise

· Provide extensive expertise (a record of successful participation) in the creation and evolution of key test artifacts

· Effectively communicate (verbal and written) with both technical and non-technical people at all levels in a clear concise manner

· Challenge existing processes and deliverables, define new processes and deliverables and evolve processes and deliverables to improve efficiency and effectiveness of products and services

· Identify areas of opportunity

· Foster a cohesive and collaborative team environmentREQUIRED SKILLS

· Minimum of 6 years hands-on total QA experience

· Minimum of 4 years of experience with the HP/Mercury automated testing software suite

· Minimum of 4 years of experience certifying J2EE web-based business applications

· Experience creating an automation test suite from scratch (no prior automation used prior to joining team) versus joining a team where automation was already in place

· Experience writing queries using SQL and/or PL/SQL

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solicit participation and input from others

· Instill a positive work ethic

· Must be highly organized and detail orientedDESIRED SKILLS

· Experience with Java, C, VB or other development technologies

· Experience with scripting languages like Perl or Silk

· Experience in the Mortgage industry
