Job Title: QA Engineer (for Content)     

Reports to: QA Manager

Location: Lake Oswego, OR 

Business Unit:  QA / Product Operations

 

Job responsibilities include:

· Performs moderately complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling, and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications.

· Performs moderately complex design, development and maintenance of application(s) using Java code base.

· Java development and development of complex SQL scripts. 

· Communicates with tax analysts, product developers, support and business specialists on product issues. Operates under general supervision.

· Build test systems and automates tests.

· Tests alpha and beta versions of the company's products.

· Executes functional, application and regression tests.

· Provides technical support to release team.

· Develops and documents test cases.

· Maintains code base and executes process for releasing monthly product updates.

· Maintains and develops internal testing tools using Java and SQL.

· Maintains documentation of test results.  Analyzes test results to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

 

 

Job and work experience requirements:

 

· Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent development experience in a QA capacity.

· Strong QA testing skills and intuition with a excellent understanding of the QA process.

· Strong application knowledge, use awareness and demonstrated trouble-shooting skills and experience

· Ability to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules and deadlines.

 

 

Special skills and knowledge requirements:

· Experience coding in Java and SQL is required.  PL/SQL a plus.

· Familiar with various software engineering tools (Eclipse, Bug tracking systems, Source code control systems).

· Experience with wide range of operating systems, application servers, web servers and database platforms.
