Quality Assurance Analyst / Manual Software Tester - Entry Level (01105)
Description:This is an entry level position. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our eCommerce application development team. The eCommerce application development team is responsible for designing and developing intuitive customer and carrier facing web solutions using advanced and cutting edge technologies. We are responsible for the development of full suite of products and services used by our business partners to manage their day to day transportation needs. The position will collaborate with eCommerce application development team to plan and execute quality control activities through out the Software Development Life Cycle. The individual is primarily responsible for driving the quality of the product while ensuring the product conforms to both functional and non-functional requirements. The main responsibilities include test planning, design and development of test cases, test data development, test execution and documentation of test results. The suite of applications includes primarily web-based applications developed with Microsoft technologies with limited opportunities to work on windows-based applications.- Work with a talented group of technology leaders to design and develop test plans, traceability matrices, test cases and test scripts from requirements, use-cases, design documents and other project documentation- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of product functionality in order to evaluate and ensure product operations during test cycles- Determine conditions under which tests are to be conducted- Identify data requirements and create data- Manually execute test cases to validate functionality- Report and track defects resulting from the test effort- Participate in peer reviews for requirements and technical specifications- Participate in peer reviews for test plans and cases- Support concurrent projects in an organized manner- Provide status and metrics reporting to management and project team members- Proactively recommend and support process improvements- Provide innovative ideas and solutions in an ever-changing environmentThis position will be expected to demonstrate performance in a manner that is consistent CHRW IT Core Values including know our business; be entrepreneurial; be a team player; provide excellent customer service; be passionate; know our technology; communicate, communicate, communicate; respect people; be accountable; and have a strong and balanced work ethic.Qualifications:- Effective listening, verbal and written skills- Attention to detail- Excellent problem solving/analysis skills- Excellent follow-through skills - is able to take the problem and see it through to its solution; assertive; a self-starter (proactive)- Have pride in their work- Enthused about providing the best service to clients and a quality product- Team player- 1-2 years experience involving software testing, preferably web applications is a plus- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle- Knowledge of SQL- Experience developing applications with Microsoft technologies such as ASP.Net and SQL Server is a plus- Understanding of Web environment and exposure to HTML- Exposure to different testing frameworks is a plus- Familiar with IBM Rational (or other) Testing Tools- Knowledge of the import/export transportation industryUndergraduate degree in business administration, computer science/software engineering, or equivalent work experience.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceWe offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, prescription drug coverage, paid holidays and vacation, disability insurance, life insurance, 401K with company match, profit sharing, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and the opportunity to prosper in a growing Fortune 500 company.Job Location: Eden Prairie, MNJob Number: 2900Company URL: http://www.chrobinson.com/careers/Company Profile:At C.H.
