Quality Assurance Lead -- Functional Testing

Unique opportunity for a strong Lead Functional Tester to join a growing, successful, publicy-held technology solutions firm.

ResponsibiltiesCollaborate with Developers, Business Analysts and Business Partners.  Actively participate in the entire product life  cycle including product specification reviews, design reviews and user acceptance testingSupport the entire test and certification process by getting involved early in the product development cycle and managing areas of ownership through product releaseAnalyze and design comprehensive functional tests and test implementation strategiesDevelop detailed test plans from all relevant product artifacts including UI designs, detailed specifications and use casesLead small test design/development efforts as required.  Will be accountable for team efforts and deliverablesConfigure test environment and test databases for specific test cases.Execute automated or manual tests and document test results.Submit application defects into defect tracking system and verify fixes when they are availableParticipate in creation and reporting of project metrics.  This includes test coverage and overall confidenceDevelop and execute automated test scripts as requiredResearch and recommend new test tools and testing techniques.



Requirements

Position requires a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics or equlvalent experience.Must have at least 7 years experience in software testing of multi-tier client/server applicationsMust have very strong analytical skillsExperience with iterative software development methodologies is a mustStrong oral & written communication and presentation skills required Strong problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction or as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to work on work on highly complex projects under extremely tight timelinesWorking knowledge of Microsoft and Unix operating systems requiredMust have working knowledge of RDBMS concepts and SQLProficiency Test Track or equivalent bug tracking database 

Strongly Desired

Experience with one or more automated testing tools such as Mercury/HP Quality Center, Mercury/HP Quick Test Pro or Segue/Borland Silk is a big plus.Knowledge of the electronic discovery and/or legal profession a big plus.Professional QA/Testing certifications are a big plus (i.e.  SQE – Certified Tester)
