Quality Assurance Specialist

This is not a testing position.  This is a Quality Assurance role with a federal contractor.

PPS InfoTech, a small federal contractor, is seeking a Quality Assurance specialist to support its program with a federal agency in Washington, DC.  PPS is a CMMI Level 2 organization and seeks a QA specialist who is familiar with the requirements for the QA processes in the CMMI model.

This position supports a program located at federal offices in Washington, DC, within a block from Union Station (Red Line Metro).  There is no travel required.

Overview of duties:

Maintains quality compliance by identifying quality requirements; developing and disseminating standards, policies, and procedures; conducting audits; recommending improvement plans. Perform internal process audits.Participate in product reviews.  Interact and assist project/task personnel with understanding process/product requirements.  Collect QA measures.  Support in interpreting and implementing CMMI requirements and participate on Engineering Process Group (EPG).  Record and track to closure corrective/preventive actions.

Duties:Establishes and documents quality assurance plans for new projects in collaboration with the project managers. Develops and maintains quality assurance documentation for projects and tasks to include quality metrics. Ensures documentation complies with established software development standards, policies and procedures or best practices. Verifies compliance to standards and applicable quality plan. Determines level of process and product quality. Escalates unresolved issues to appropriate management levels. Assists management in the definition and maintenance of an effective and efficient quality program, including the development and presentation of associated training and familiarization to affected staff. Revises standard practices and procedures as appropriate. Assesses quality compliance by conducting audits; analyzing and verifying documentation; reviewing process changes.Improves quality compliance by recommending and following-up on improvement plansPrepares quality assurance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Skills/Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, computer science, or related field Three or more years of QA experience on federal programsSound knowledge of auditing and QA principles Must be able to have a successfully adjudicated background investigation by a federal civil agency at the 5C levelExperience working with quality metrics and software industry metric data collection and analysis techniques Experience working with quality assurance principles and practices and software development methodologiesFamiliarity with CMMI
