Our direct client is a global services firm.  They have a major site in the SAN Jose CA area.

This role calls for someone who can perform customer support for IBM mainframe software products. 

You will take ownership of  two or more DB2  tools products, providing effective telephone support to  customers.

Communicate with systems programmers and DBA s, install software products, recreate problems, analyze dumps, determine if  product defects, open  APAR s and follow up with customers until solution is given.

Skills  MVS operations, utilities, JCL, SMP, debugging, and problem analysis VM CMS Assembler 370  DB2 Helpful  DB2 DBA experience, DB2 utilities or OEM,  software installation, MVS internals  PL X or PL I  REXX.

Please have recent experience supporting mainframe systems type of work as compared to application development

I am open on rates and payments terms (w2, 1099, Subcontract and Corp. to Corp terms will all work for this client).  I would vastly prefer to have people on my w2 for simplicity’s sake.

While there is an option to a right to hire, it is not probable.
