Release Engineer The primary responsibility of the Release Engineer is to develop, implement and manage build automation mechanisms for the HCAP application. The Release Engineer will work closely with development and Quality Assurance to ensure build test-automation is taken into consideration throughout the development lifecycle. As a Release Engineer you will be responsible for the continuous and nightly build systems, proper archiving of product releases, and enforcement of release processes. Responsibilities Software Release ManagementExtend, enhance, and maintain the release build system.Administer the SCM system (Perforce) and support the developers and QA engineers, providing day-to-day operational and maintenance support overseeing tools, repositories, and utilities.Maintain build environments and build history archive.Provide ongoing build support: continuously monitoring build status and coordinating a quick resolution to build issues.Release Process ManagementAssist in the continued development and improvement of the release process, including:Refining integration coordination processes to support the existing development processes.Extending, monitoring, and executing the SCM backup and recovery processes Minimum of 2-3 years as a Build and Release Engineer, ideally working with a unix / linux based product.BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceExperience with:Unix and/or Linux operating systemsJava A scripting language (e.g., sh, Perl, Python), preferably PythonApache Ant to build java-based productsDeployment and administration of CruiseControlStrong knowledge, preferably administrative, of Perforce or similar SCM solution
