Position Description:

The Software Developer, Release Engineering, will have a proven track record developing automated tools and processes to build and deploy releases in a large scale Web based production environment.

 

Principal responsibilities include:

- Design, develop and document a scalable and automated build, test and deployment environment

- Manage the release process of all software components to be placed in production for a large scale search platform

- Maintain and improve the build process

- Manage test environments

- Contribute to test automation effort

- Assist the development and operations' teams as needed for releases

 

Education:

BA/BS in computer science or related field or 3+ years of equivalent industry experience.

 

Required Skills:

- Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment

- Experience working with Source Control Management Software

- Fluency in one of more of: Shell, Ruby, PHP, Perl or Python

- Solid understanding of Web Server Technologies

- Solid working knowledge of UNIX, preferably LINUX

- UNIX system administration experience a plus

- Experience with virtualization technologies a plus

- SQL experience, MySQL a plus

- Proven ability to organize and complete tasks on time.

- Strong communications skills.

- Expertise in coding, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
