Research Scientist

Kodak Research Laboratories (KRL) conducts research in its facilities in North America and Europe. Within KRL the research is focused on materials, devices, and computational science. The Computational Science & Technology Research Group seeks scientists who will help create new ways of capturing, interpreting, organizing, synthesizing, and sharing multimedia data. The work will include initiating and carrying out novel research projects, collaborating with other members of KRL in ongoing projects and with Kodak business units in transferring technology, interacting with university research groups, and publishing papers in leading journals and conferences. Candidates should have research experience in one or more of the following areas: PhD in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Multi-dimensional signal, processing, including restoration and enhancement, denoising, perceptual quality assessment, computational photography, 3D imaging, and motion detection and estimation. Multimedia communications, including coding and compression, media streaming, scalability, and quality of service over networks. Multimedia analysis and management, including audio, video, text, and multisensor data fusion. Computer vision, including object detection/recognition/tracking and statistical modeling. Machine learning, including pattern recognition and data mining. Additional Qualifications: Publications in refereed journals and conferences Public speaking skills Strong programming skills
