Revenue Accountant

Job Summary:  This position will play an important role in the continued development of the Accounting/Finance organization. This position reports to the Revenue Manager and will interact with the sales and legal personnel.

Primary Responsibilities:  Prepare invoices, including the review of contractual terms to ensure consistency in pricing and scheduling of future billings Prepare supporting documentation for billing Maintain the accuracy of accounts receivable and invoicingAssist in internal and external financial reporting for revenue Research revenue recognition issuesAssist with implementation of billing subledger, including input of contract terms, review of outputs, invoice and revenue recognitionMaintenance of contract and invoice information in the billing subledgerPrepare sales commission calculations and related reportingPrepare revenue and sales commission related journal entriesPrepare deferred revenue, capitalized sales bonus and sales commission accrual entriesOther projects as assigned

 

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): 

 Strong accounting skills, especially in areas of revenue recognition, e.g., SAB 104Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principlesPC proficient in a Windows environment.  Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Great Plains Dynamics Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlinesExcellent organizational skillsMust be detail oriented and organizedWorks independently as well as in a team environmentExperience with a high-tech company strongly preferredHighly effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Education / Experience:BS/BA degree in accounting or related field Software revenue recognition experience to include complex revenue recognition models 4-6 years experience Proficiency with Excel Ideal candidate with have basic understanding of U.S. GAAP; experience with a high-growth company
