SAN Disaster Recovery Architect

Day to Day Work Seeking an individual with architecture experience in SAN design and Disaster Recovery planning, including SAN replication technologies, heterogeneous SAN configurations, SAN layout and configuration and performance assessment. Additional experience with Microsoft Clustering or Linux clustering a plus. Current SAN hardware certifications from HP, IBM, EMC, or Hitachi preferred. EMC recover point experience highly desirable. Ability to lead projects, implementation teams and customers in SAN configuration and assessment services, requirements gathering, storage implementations and application testing is required. Travel is required, territory is North America.Job Descriptions and Skills The ideal candidates are described below. The Storage (SAN) Architect / consultant will have applied specialized knowledge in storage area networks and relevant vendor hardware to conceptualize, design, construct, test, implement and optimize storage systems that enable and support business functions. Interacts with the customer and Unisys team to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction. Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects. Collects, identifies, defines and organizes detailed user and systems requirements. Coordinates and collaborates with others to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the customer. Conceptualizes, constructs, tests and implements storage and replication solutions for the customer environment. Key Responsibilities Document current storage, assesses its shortcomings, and suggests improvements. Develop and communicate technology architectural blueprints, and support implementation ensuring integration with data and applications. Develop conceptual SAN models Develop strategy of client/server systems and the SAN design necessary to support that strategy. Serve as storage architectural advisor to IT management, their staff and clients. Provide technical expertise in the design, development and implementation of a SAN environment in different computing platform environments. Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to data storage, data access, and storage replication/disaster recovery. Technical & Behavioral Skills 5 years experience in: Windows 200X, XP and/or UNIX/LINUX Storage SAN/NAS Disaster Recovery Implementation and Architecture certifications in SAN hardware and vendor solutions including EMC, HP, IBM, or Hitachi desired.
