SAP Basis Administrator

This is FULLTIME POSITION. NO H1B PLEASE. Looking for a Senior SAP Basis DBA who will provide technical / administrative installation and support for new SAP landscape including SAP Basis Administration support, performance monitoring & tuning, problem analysis and resolution and other activities required to maintain system integrity and high availability. Specific Job Responsibilities: Install and upgrade SAP application software Review system changes for performance impact Monitor the SAP environment Cross-train other personnel in the monitoring and operation of the SAP landscape Perform 2nd level SAP technical problem determination and resolution activities. Consult on technical issues pertaining to SAP system performance and stability Perform proactive monitoring and tuning of the SAP systems Create and monitor SAP printer ID's Receive, process, monitor and report on SAP related Change Requests Perform Physical Database Administration activities for databases serving SAP instances Plan and implement SAP and database patch upgrades Apply Support Packages / Legal Change Packages Apply technical / system related OSS note change recommendations as needed Configure and manage workload distribution Perform clones, additions, deletions, and transports Configure and customize CCMS monitors and thresholds Maintain SAP and database parameters Import and maintain additional languages as required Support SAP batch processing Import contents of transport requests using TMS and workflow according to defined processes and procedures Provide technical related issue investigation and resolution related to failed transports Maintain STMS configuration Assist with on and off shore development staff with transport issues Plan, implement, and maintain SAP print queues Establish printer definitions within the SAP system and associated operating system print queues Monitor completion status of SAP background jobs Apply application / functional related OSS note recommendation when appropriate Perform application configuration, maintenance, and other development related activities Provide information related to critical business requirements to ensure that appropriate technical configuration can be implemented Schedule all SAP Remote Support Services including Earlywatch, Go Live, Remote Consulting, etc. Services Distribute and maintain SAP Portal application Maintain approval process for all Correction and Transport Requests Provide education and training of personnel on Correction and Transports processes and procedures Define run schedules for all SAP background processing Other duties as necessary to support a multi-system SAP landscape in a 24 x 7 environment Minimum Qualifications: 5-7 years of in-depth experience in the technical support of SAP network, database, and application server performance 3-5 years of experience in technical Infrastructure and Windows / Microsoft SQL based operations support environments 3-5 years SAP Basis administration experience 2 years experience with Microsoft SQL database management system Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required  Preferred Qualifications: Business Warehouse (BW), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Sales and Distribution (SD), SAP Portal, Duet, and ABAP programming Experience having successfully developed and implemented new SAP technology Heavy experience with XI / PI integration Experience with Monitoring Key Performance Indicators, database, all application processes, interfaces and tuning the required parameters and necessary actions for better performance Experience with setting up production system/database copy, system refresh The candidate must have demonstrable initiative, good judgment, and the ability to achieve results with/through others Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
