SAP Business Applications Manager

Very prestigious company located in the Southern Suburbs of Chicago is actively seeking an SAP Business Application Manager.  The preferred individual will have grown up technically and now manages an entire SAP enterprise.  This manager will be responsible for a team of 8 employees and will meet with the business community to develop functional applications with the SAP WM and FICO modules.  The preferred candidate will have proven management experience and will have excellent communication and client interfacing skills.

 

Job Requirements:

 

· Manage the resource plan and priorities of the direct reports.

· Review and approve transport and configuration objects migrating to production.

· Review and approve technical blueprint documents for projects.  Understand and communicate known system risks.

· Oversee the quality and approve technical configuration specification documents for projects and production support

· Oversee the Offshore production support team ensuring that all Remedy procedures are being adhered to and tickets are properly being assigned and managed

· Investigate urgent technical issues in the system and assign/oversee resources to ensure configuration resolution is executed timely

· Be the management escalation point for functional issues during off hours. Responsible for deploying the necessary resources and actions to resolve the issues.

· Project Management on some key internal IT and functional business projects with adherence to the company’s project management methodology.

· Provide technical input to project discussions with business functional areas during project scoping meetings.

· Mentor, coach, and possible discipline direct reports.  Conduct reviews and manage resource paid time off.

· Conduct reviews and provide on-going feedback to direct reports.

· Manage all communication and escalated technical issues to ensure resolution.

· Help to create and implement internal SAP team procedures and controls.

Requirements

The SAP Business Applications Manager role requires skills in leadership, planning, and technical subject matter expertise necessary to support the team in delivering a world class SAP system that meets both the business and technology needs.

Skills include but are not limited to: 

· Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Business area, or related discipline with a Masters degree preferred.

 

· 10 years of work experience.

 

· 5 years as a Business Application Manager or Technical Team Leader in addition to project management function.

 

· 1 year of experience managing direct reports (conducting performance reviews, mentoring, managing priorities, etc.). Proven ability to lead a team to identify technological alternatives, reach sound conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations

 

· 5 years hands-on SAP technical experience in a functional application area of SAP (WM or FICO preferred).

 

· Experience as a project leadership with the SDLC (Software/Systems Development Life Cycle) process.

 

· In-depth technical understanding SAP functional applications and systems integration across modules.

 

· Customer service / relationship focus

 

· 3 years with solid full cycle implementation experience and system support/maintenance experience

 

· Experience successfully managing multiple projects and assignments concurrently.

 

· Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with senior managers (both business and technical)
