Location:  Marietta, GA with 50% Travel
Compensation:  $85K to $90K

MISSION / SUMMARY:

 

This mission of this position is to analyze business issues and to identify projects and technologies which will produce significant operational results and add value to the corporation.  As a subject matter expert in Plant Maintenance and storeroom systems and processes, the Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both business needs and a solid understanding of industry requirements and best practices.  In addition, the Analyst may function as a project manager to coordinate and facilitate the work of cross-functional company resources assigned to Systems projects.  This position may also assist in routine maintenance for specific modules in the company’s suite of business applications.  This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper Systems requirement specifications.

 Applies technical knowledge of all phases of Systems analysis, and also considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.  Also considers the systems lifecycle including supportability, ongoing maintenance and support requirements.

 Instructs, directs, and checks the work of less experienced Business Systems Analysts. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines of project. Familiar with the systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the work team.

 Prepare project plans which include definition, scope, resources, and schedule.

 Manage resources based upon the project plan. Prioritize tasks in order to achieve project goals. Ensures adequate communication is maintained regarding all project status and priorities.

 Manage and augment the development and maintenance of application systems by conducting meetings with the users to determine their system requirements. Consults with functional area management regarding the status of specific projects.

 Develop detail system design which supports the system requirements. Conduct technical reviews and walk-through of IT design documentation with development and design team members. Review and critique the technical documentation of other systems to assure quality products.

 Provide support for designated application systems. Augment and facilitate the design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing business systems.

 Develop working relationships with business people in the Preventative Maintenance, Reliability Centered Maintenance and Storeroom management areas and gain an understanding of their business. Maintain familiarity with the business plans of the departments serviced.  Remain knowledgeable of information technology and Company business operations.

 Define information business systems requirements jointly working with management and professional staff in user departments. Technical solutions must satisfy the business needs for the future, i.e., take into account Company growth and customer service objectives.

 Responsible for assisting user and IT management in setting priorities within their functional areas and work with Systems Leadership to communicate with senior management.

 Provide guidance in creating standards, testing procedures, version control, etc. Maintain a professional awareness of tools and techniques that might be used to improve the quality of service.

 As a staff member within the Systems Department, this position is responsible for coordinating the application of technology from a Systems and end-user (customer) perspective, providing project management, business/technological expertise, and information to IT Leadership and other business leaders within the Company.  This position is expected to manage company IT resources plus contractors resources as required for specific projects.  The position is also responsible for budget management for assigned projects. 

 

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

 

·  4-year college degree in Business or IT-Related field required.  Equivalent work experience considered in lieu of a completed degree.

 6+ years IT experience including 2-4 years in SAP Plant Maintenance / Storeroom modules.  Experience in both implementation and application support is desired.  General experience should include systems architecture and business processes used in manufacturing and distribution. 

 2+ years project management experience
