As a data feed software developer, you will be responsible for integrating external data feeds into our internal enterprise schema and database model. You will be operations focused and will enthusiastically approach the most challenging problems and develop simple and efficient software solutions. You will be enthusiastic about your work and be will versed in a variety of enterprise software technologies. You can work effectively in both broad collaborative efforts and deep individual projects. This company's Web UI platform is capable of rendering hundreds of web sites using the same code base, and same server instance, using a highly scalable (patent-pending) technology. Additionally, we have built a behavioral targeting engine to render content targeted at a specific user or a group of users. Also, the platform includes patent-pending W3C-compliant Semantic Search engine and indexing of the faceted search using SOLR. Going forward, we will extend the content management system to allow internal producers, and external editors, to edit any content on any page (instead of developers churning out this code per module/page). The data feed developer leverages, and extends as appropriate, the entire platform to integrate new data feeds into our database. All developers spend 90% of their time on project-driven development and 10% on their own innovation projects. Each developer is expected to not only deliver brilliant code on time, but also to deliver unit tests to ensure quality. You will work with program managers and architects to understand the business problem and the specifications. You will work with the Development Lead to provide preliminary and final estimates for the design, development, and unit test work. You will work with the Development Lead to apply object-oriented design principles to design new components of the software applications and participate in design reviews. Write code and unit tests to realize software designs using the Microsoft .NET Framework. You will understand the SecondSpace schema and data model. You will work with quality assurance, infrastructure, data operations, and customer service to support the software throughout it entire lifecycle. You will work on multiple application development projects simultaneously. You should be a self-motivated self-started and can build applications and tools on your own without supervision. You must have great communication and problem solving skills, and love working in a team environment. You will be responsible for some testing and some manual loading of feeds within and data operations role. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelors’ degree in computer science. • 2+ years experience authoring C# code and using the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework. • Proficiency in creating database tables and SQL stored procedures. • Familiarity with XML. • Familiarity with design patterns. • String problem solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. • Likes to work well with other smart, motivated people.
