SDK Support Engineer

Serve as engineering liaison for customers developing UPnP/DLNA-compliant media streaming products based on our source code. Responsibilities include supporting development efforts from initial customer training, through planning, design, implementation, testing, and certification. Implementation will include creating new applications to meet customer specifications. The person who fills this position will coordinate between customers and Macrovision development, QA, and partners to ensure the success of projects with internal and external dependencies.

 

  Serve as point of contact within product development for assigned customer projects  Train customers on Macrovision's embedded software architecture and code base Define technical design and implementation plans with customers Provide high-quality responsive and direct customer support by: assisting in diagnosing issues validating general feature design and bug fix strategies providing source code patches as appropriate
Create new applications based on customer specifications Act as the coordination point between the customer and Macrovision engineering and QA Contribute to the maturity of the support organization by developing processes and customer issue tracking systems

Position is based in San Mateo but requires occasional international travel.

 

Qualifications, Education and Experience:




Required: Experience working with external software developers  Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills  Must be a competent in software development processes ANSI C BS in CS or EE

Desired: Digital media or A/V software development experience  Embedded software development experience Experience with multimedia codecs Experience with TCP/IP networking Familiarity with UPnP, DLNA, NMPR standards
