SENIOR PUBLISHING DIRECTOR
Position Summary: The Senior Director of Publishing defines, develops, and executes efficient plans for publishing of large-scale online web-based and PC games products, and retail boxed game products, in the US and internationally. Directs and inspires a cross-functional team of web production, engineering, and customer service, and works directly with senior marketing, finance, accounting, and first party and third party product development. Must have extensive ecommerce experience with development, deployment and ongoing maintenance and enhancement of end-user commercial websites.
Essential Functions of the PositionDefine, develop, and execute efficient plans for publication and operations of large-scale online web-based and PC games products, and retail boxed PC game products, in the US and internationally Direct and inspire a cross-functional team of production, engineering, and customer service, and work directly with senior marketing, finance, accounting, and first party and third party product development Identify new business models and help build entertainment products around them Relentlessly drive metrics-based strategy and decision making Manage and inspire team, developing strong positive relationships with staff you are directly and indirectly overseeing Works well cross-functionally with marketing, finance, product development, QA, and others to reach consensus and drive results Directs licensing or development of systems and technologies that support publishing goals Responsible for day to day operations of publishing organization Responsible for scheduling of product and content deployment Responsible for publishing P&L, budget forecasting, and estimates Responsible for formulation and monitoring of all department budgets and schedules, in concert with corporate guidelines and objectives. Responsible for feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems to meet business needs. Identifies and resolves issues resulting from interdependencies resulting from the publishing of multiple SKU’s. Builds and enhances high level relationships, both internal and external. Communicates to convince and influence important decision makers.
Requirements
· Proven leader with minimum five years experience in senior management of web development, marketing, ecommerce, or similar operations
· Direct experience in three of five areas:Customer care Marketing and sales Product manufacturing Technology management Strategic web development
· Experience with ecommerce or online payment processing
· Strong experience in budget, timeline, people, process and project management.
· Experience in a fast-moving startup environment
· Action and detailed oriented team player with a successful track record in building and managing successful teams and launching compelling products
· Seasoned consensus builder, able to lead through influence
· Demonstrated ability to strategize, define, and execute
· In-depth experience with organizational development, recruiting, employee training and behavioral management.
· A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
· Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
· Customer/end-user orientation.
· Excellent written and verbal communications, analytic and organizational skills.
· Proven ability to work well under pressure of resource and time constraints.
