Software Tester I

 

IPRO Tech, Inc., a well-established computer software company headquartered in Northwest Phoenix has a job opening for a Software Tester I. 

 

Position Description

 

The Software Tester works with Development to help ensure and improve the quality of software products. He/she tests applications, identifies risks to software projects, creates test cases for assigned software, tests reported issues in current release versions and manages issue reporting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform functional, configuration, system, and performance testing.

• Write test cases to test all aspects of a product.

• Write software defect reports and maintain logged defects in defect database.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a minimum of two years experience in the software development industry with an emphasis on application testing desired.

• Knowledge of the software development life cycle, trouble-shooting and software bug report cycle.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytic problem definition, solution, and design skills.

• Must have an ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.

• Experience with MS Windows OS, web browsers, e-mail clients and MS Office

• Able to work independently with little supervision.

• Software trouble-shooting and defect isolation skills.

• Able to work in a team environment.

• Detail oriented.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• One to two years of previous experience as a QA tester.

• Experience working on a team of programmers, software testers, systems analysts and other systems implementation professionals.

• Knowledge of HTML, MS Office Suite

• Knowledge of SQL Server
