Title: SP&O Communication Manager #64533 Location: San Rafael, CA Role/Purpose: Develops and drives the strategy and tactics necessary to create and maintain excellent internal communication throughout SP&O to enable the function's – and the company's– long-term success. Increases employee engagement and leadership effectiveness through clear, consistent, multi-directional communication consultation and execution. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Develops communication strategies and plans, providing oversight of successful execution. Provides leadership and support in the areas of strategy, messaging, and customer and partner experience. Works with SP&O staff to develop and deliver a division brand marketing plan and marketing communications plan. Works with cross-company and cross-functional groups to understand the audience mindset in order to create, improve and maintain a positive customer experience. Builds awareness of SP&O deliverables, solutions and priorities across the entire company. Matrix-manages the people and processes required to execute comprehensive communication plans, including those necessary to ensure strategic, change-oriented communication is developed and implemented. Works with senior management to ensure the alignment of communication messaging with business strategy and change management initiatives. Influences and leads the use of communication diagnostics (focus groups, opinion surveying, feedback mechanisms, etc.) throughout the organization to improve communication effectiveness. Applies expertise in directly and indirectly managing traditional and technology-based communication vehicles (live presentations; virtual meetings, video, intranet content, blogs, podcast, etc.). Translates and crystallizes jargon, short-hand, and corporate-speak into crisp, actionable messages. Drives a business agenda, supported by communication – never a communication agenda. Partners with Employee Communication, external communication functions and marketing communication (including internal branding) to increase communication consistency and effectiveness. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years successful experience managing employee communication in a corporate setting Superior writing and editing skills Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills Minimum Bachelor's degree – communication specialty preferred Strong interviewing, research and journalistic skills Demonstrated ability to quickly synthesize and prioritize the elements of a message or story Basic knowledge in HTML coding, SharePoint, Dreamweaver and Photoshop are important Strength, speed, and creativity as a writer Strong influencing skills; a preference for working behind the scenes Good project management skills Equanimity under pressure Unwavering respect for deadlines A lively sense of humor Must be able to execute a sample writing assignment Autodesk provides one of the most exceptional compensation and benefit packages, including stock options for all employees, 401k matching, six week sabbatical after four years of employment, domestic partner policy, ongoing employee training and development, flexible work hours and more!
