Job Title: Our client has immediate openings for a Contract SQL DBA in Tucson, AZ.

 

 

Job Description:

Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. You will work on every aspect of technical development, from requirement analysis, design, development, testing through to deployment and the management of the production environment.

You will have a strong commercial development experience of 6+ years and at least 3-4 years ASP.NET development experience. You should also have 4-5 years strong SQL Server experience with skills to create and maintain stored procedures, manage database objects and perform data optimization tasks as necessary. Experience in handling large data volumes is essential.

This role is a proactive one where the individual is expected to be self-motivated and proactive as a key member of a data intensive company. You will be expected to be very “hands-on” and competent with technical work in a small business environment.

Outline of Responsibilitiesconsidering both 'back end' organization of data and 'front end' accessibility for end users; refining the 'logical design' so that it can be translated into a specific data model; further refining the 'physical design' to meet system storage requirements; testing new systems; Maintaining data standards, including adherence to regulatory bodies including Data HIPAA or others as appropriate.writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary ('metadata'); controlling access permissions and privileges; ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly; working closely with programmers and web developers; communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff, to ensure the database integrity and security;Administer development and production environments. This includes websites and databases Continuously monitor website and database performance Interact with business development and marketing team to understand the business requirements Provide timely functional releases so as to meet fast changing business requirementsAssess risk and impact on the existing system that may arise due to any requirement or functional change

Skills and CompetenciesIn depth SQL Server Database Administration experience. Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000 & 2005 RDBMS on large systems Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. Experience of Transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures. Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database securityYou should have experience with .NET Framework 1.1 and higher Experience with maintaining SQL Server 2000 objects and handling performance issues Knowledge of XML, XHTML, XMLHTTP would be an added advantage

Minimum Requirements:

 Must have 5+ years of experience as Microsoft SQL Server DBA working with SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Working knowledge of MS Access and Report writing advanced queries and reports
Data retrieval experience required (ETL using SSIS and DTS Packages)

· Strong T-SQL experience writing stored procedures, queries, views, and triggers.

· Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience working with the design implementation, and maintenance of business critical data warehouses

· 2+ years experience with .NET, MDAC, MSI and applications development experience with Visual Basic/Studio



Education/Certification Qualifications:

MCDBA certification
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred
Two years healthcare experience preferred
Two years managed care experience preferred
