Description:

NOTE: Due to the location of the clients we support, this position will have a work schedule of 11am-830pm Eastern time. We will only respond to qualified candidates who are willing and able to work this shift.

 

Job Performance/Responsibilities:

·Develops and documents current or new database designs
·Identifies impact of database designs on existing and future systems.
·Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of company databases.
·Resolves database performance issues.
·Develops, implements and monitors database capacity plans
·Provides status reports that give a detailed description of the current tasks and indicates time devoted to each task.
·Participates in development of detail design and design walk-throughs with appropriate focus groups and related users to verify accuracy of design in meeting business needs.
·Respond to ad hoc requests for support and analysis.
·Works closely with Business Analysts or System Analysts to develop detail system design.
·May provide consultation on complex projects and process development.

 

Administers, maintains, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s databases.

Implements data models, database designs, data access, database technical specifications and maintenance plans; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, synchronization, replication, and other distributed data issues.

Assist with the development, review and testing of database objects and stored procedures using advanced programming techniques.

Responsible for data conversion, extracts and loads.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the labor market industry and security concepts.

Works directly with clients, end users and technical staff to support the company’s applications and operational data need.

Consults with, conducts education and advises end users of the various organizational data sources and the tools available to access them.

Works directly with potential users of data, developers and technical support personnel to anticipate and plan for productive data access, security and utilization.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under general supervision.

May be required to carry a pager and support software applications for operations during scheduled 24x7 time periods.

 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5-8 years recent database administration experience in appropriate technical environment. Experience in the labor market or regulatory occupation industries preferred.

Knowledge/skills:

Knowledge of database design standards.
Has a good command of languages/platforms specifically SQL
Can code programs under ODBC and stored procedures
Can support data synchronization across multiple environments
Can perform capacity planning and analyze bench marking plans
Knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools.
Ability to monitor and resolve database performance issues.
Ability to document database designs and conversion maps.
Skill in defining end user groups for database security and access.
Familiarity with data corruption and database recoverability methods.
