SQL Developer/DBA

We’re looking for a recent college graduate who wants to become a SQL Developer / DBA.  As an entry level SQL Developer you will join the BDMetrics Data & Tools team that’s responsible for handling, QA’ing and reporting on incoming 3rd party data for the transactional database that supports our forward facing applications, as well as moving data from our various production databases into a reporting / warehouse environment.  You’ll be involved in the design, development, administration and implementation of complex ETL (extract, transform and load) processes and stored procedures, and provide data services / reporting services to our Event Operations, UI Development, and Sales & Marketing teams.

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or other technical discipline.  3.4 GPA or higher – no exceptions

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• A thirst for knowledge and learning

• Demonstrates initiative to expand knowledge outside of the classroom

• Effective communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment to include solid time management and prioritization skills

 

Bonus skills:

• Advanced coursework in database design, programming and methodology including ETL, data warehouse, data mining and business intelligence concepts.

• Familiarity with any of the following:

o  versioning controls and concepts

o  object oriented design methodology and environment

o  testing methodologies

o  XML and web services

• Experience through internship, part time or full time positions in a production programming / DB environment

• Masters Degree in a technical or business discipline.
