RESPONSIBILITIES:* Manage enterprise level database environments * Provide Tier II support for the database applications in a 24 x 7 environment* Manage the life cycle of databases from creation, support and tuning, toarchitecting backup solutions that meet customers service level agreements fordowntime/loss but are still cost effective* Work in a team environment with a strong emphasis on providing service tointernal customers.* Plan, test, and perform database software upgrades for both development andproduction enterprise systems.* Help architect new solutions that are cost effective. * Refresh production data to test and development environments* Identify current processes that are labor intensive as opportunities forautomation by either writing scripts/programs or recommending tools that willautomate the process. * Document and diagram current steady state work as well as future projectbased workJOB REQUIREMENTS:* Minimum of 3 years experience with SQL Server 2000/2005* Additional Experience in DB2, Oracle 9i,10g, or Progress is desirable.* Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience in an IT related field. * Minimum 3 years system administration (Windows, AIX, Solaris) * Experience as a DBA for PeopleSoft, Glovia or MFGPro desirable.* Ability to perform tier II on-call production support * Database tuning - must be able to work with end users and applicationdevelopers in identifying, analyzing, and implementing solutions to databaseperformance problems. (must)* Ability to create, implement and maintain DTS/SSIS scripts and replicationvia log shipping / RMAN.* Write/modify UNIX Shell scripts in shell script languages such as ksh, bash,and perl * Ability to write and tune T-SQL and stored procedures
