Quova is seeking a Senior Software Developer for our core Product Development team. This individual will play a key role both in developing new technology and in sustaining engineering for Quova’s existing GeoPoint product family.

 

This position requires 7+ years of server-side software development experience. Thorough knowledge of Java is a must, as are strong C/C++ skills, commitment to sound engineering practices and principles and in-depth knowledge of socket programming, multithreading techniques and DB technologies.

 

Responsibilities include

 Developing innovative new products around the GeoPoint service.Maintaining and enhancing Quova’s existing GeoPoint and GeoAnalytics products and services, and world-spanning Data Collection Network.Providing engineering support both to internal research staff and to our customer support team.

 

Requirements

 Minimum of 7 years software development experienceThorough knowledge of Java, J2EE and related technologies (JDBC, JNDI, etc.)Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design/AnalysisProficiency in C/C++Proficiency in multithreaded server application scalability and performance tuningExperience with relational database systemsExperience with cross-platform development (Win32 and Unix)Familiarity with unit testing principles and practicesKnowledge of IP networking fundamentalsKnowledge of Web application architecturesStrong written and verbal communications skillsHands on experience with .Net and C# is a definite plus.
