The Position – Sales Engineer, MSP

As a Sales Engineer at AlterPoint you will partner with a Regional Sales Director as a technical resource and provide product presentations and demos, develop prototypes, and manage the RFP process for customers within the MSP space.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide pre-sales technical support to MSPs and Carriers

· Work with the Regional Sales Director to understand MSP and Carrier business problems, needs, and network configurations

· Develop relationships with customers to address identified needs via integrated technical solutions with AlterPoint products

· Deliver customer presentations and provide installation assistance

· Manage the technical aspects of the entire sales process

· Work closely with the AlterPoint Professional Services and Product Management teams to support sales objectives.

· Communicate customer requirements efficiently to AlterPoint

 

Qualifications and Technology Experience

· 5+ years experience in sales engineering with a focus on software solutions

· Prior experience providing pre-sales technical support to Carriers and MSP’s

· Experience with Perl is a must

· Working knowledge of networking protocols such as MPLS, IS-IS, BGP, and OSPF

· Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Disaster Recovery

· Experience with MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle 10 is preferred

· Experience with Open Source products desired

· Excellent communication and presentation skills
