Security Analyst
Gallup is looking for a talented Security Analyst to join our global MIS team. With double-digit growth over the past year, Gallup is expanding its internal security infrastructure. As an Information Security Analyst, you will provide vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across LAN/WAN configurations. You will contribute to the development of testing methodologies that simulate attacks on applications and networks in a controlled environment to determine the effectiveness of security controls. Responsibilities: • Provide security scans and vulnerability assessments • Carry out penetration testing against development and production systems • Configure and operate scanning and testing tools • Document test results • Recommend countermeasures and remediation techniques • Support a real-time log of observed security events • Strong knowledge of network and Web application exploitation, ethical hacking, penetration testing, computer forensics, and tool development • Knowledge of firewalls and intrusion detection • Technical experience with network security products, cryptographic suites, firewalls, application servers, routers, and IDS systems • Experience with application-level attacks • Familiarity with common vulnerabilities in major operating systems (i.e., UNIX® and Microsoft® Windows®) and ability to follow the emergence of new exploitation techniques • Experience with network security testing, server hardening, vulnerability scanning tools, and penetration testing techniques • Ability to use multiple tools such as Enterprise Scanner, MetaSploit, WebInspect, and custom developed tools and perform an iterative technique of testing, notifying, escalating, and retesting to manage vulnerability detection and remediation • Correlation and analysis of security inputs from multiple sources, including IDS/IPS consoles, firewall logs, real-time packet traces, host logs, and for-profit intelligence services • Strong presentation and communication skills Desired Skills: • Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows administration • Programming ability or development experience in at least one of the following languages: .NET (ASP.NET), Java (JSP, Applets, and EJB), Perl, Python, Ruby, or C/C++ • Computer science or related technical degree, or equivalent in work experience and practical knowledge • Professional certification in CISSP, CISM, MCSD, GIAC, or CEH • Technical and business writing skills Gallup is a prospering management consulting company that is committed to helping organizations improve their business performance and develop better leaders, more productive employees, and more profitable customers.
