Security Manager (Information Systems)

The Security Manager will establish a security profile for the organization. This individual will be responsible for assessing the current security state and establishing a roadmap for change.  Continual risk assessments must be done in areas of physical security, information security, and access control. The Security Manager will own the task of establishing security policies, rolling out policies, training employees, and establishing auditable controls to measure the effectiveness of those policies.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessity in order to be successful in this newly created role.   

 

Specific Responsibilities: Create, rollout, and enforce security policy throughout the organization Assist managers in creating policy and procedures specific to their dpts to support corporate policy  Head the Security Team by setting goals, timelines, and ensuring communication across the organization Understand the various security methodologies and match those to an organization’s goals Match security strategy and goals to company culture, size, and ability to embrace change Identify standards and controls that are measureable and auditable Enforce compliance to security policy and standards Assist in completing security questionnaires from customers Assist with IT and application security audits Assist internal audit team; support yearly SAS70 audits and assist with quarterly internal controls audit   Participate in application and IT design sessions to ensure security is considered Oversee third party audit team  Produce metrics that communicate progress, risk, and obstacles Benchmark our security stature to similar (SaaS) organizations

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree Must posses at least one of the following information systems certifications:

-GIAC, CISSP, and/or CISM certifications strongly desired

-CISA a plus

 

Requirements: 8-10 yrs relevant exp Prior exp implementing security policy in a small company required Premium written and verbal communication skills a must Must be versed in security methodologies. Must be able to match an overall security plan to an organization’s goals Exp writing, implementing and auditing policy and procedure Ability to implement change within an organization   Large org background/familiarity with best practices helpful SaaS exp a plus
