Security Team Engineer

Description:In this exciting and challenging opportunity, the successful candidate will join eBay’s kernel security team and will be working on development and implementation of the application kernel technology for an international, secure, high availability, and high volume web site. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with cross functional teams (Architects, Product Design, Product Development), using knowledge of Java and related technologies to improve the functionality of the eBay kernel layer and security. A willingness to learn, ability to present coherently, write unit tests and documentation for features specific to security will be required. Primary responsibilities include:· Collaborate with application teams related to front end implementations and designs.· Collaborate with architects on kernel, security and application layers related to front-end and back-end designs. In particular, strive to design and implement standards-based solutions with minimal environmental dependencies that can be reused in a variety of deployments across the eBay family of companies.· Interact with QA to develop and analyze feature presentation and interact with the performance team to analyze site speed or slowdown issues.· Lead and interact with development teams to resolve code dependency issues and to reduce coupling.· Develop and implement processes to automate and facilitate ways to proactively find problems and prevent reoccurrences.· Analyze and recommend tools to help increase productivity. · Document best practices and create a knowledge baseQualifications:We are looking for bright and self motivated software engineers, with excellent computer science fundamentals, responsible for developing framework, tools and services using cutting-edge technologies that incorporate software engineering best practices to enhance eBay’s software development and delivery capability.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: San Jose, CAJob Number: RUSAEBAY7121-593136Company URL: http://www.ebaycareers.com Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience Job Location:  US-CA-Silicon Valley/San Jose Job Number:  26107BR Company URL:  http://www.ebaycareers.com
