For more information, visit http://www.standardandpoors.com The Senior Application Developer will be a key player in the analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of applications. This role requires a seasoned technologist, who works effectively, both independently and self-managed, as well as collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate must be a delivery-focused person with solid web application development experience and leadership skills. Candidate will report to Director of Application Development and will assist with the day-to-day design, development, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment tasks. In addition, candidate will work closely with external partner working with S&P in the implementation of the system. Strong Web application development experience delivering Java/J2EE applications using technologies such as, Struts/MVC, Spring, Hibernate/ORM, Flex, JSP, JavaScript. Fluency in Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, SQL optimization. Experience building Web services using SOAP, WSDL, SOA etc. Strong Object-Oriented Analysis and Design patterns knowledge. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required. Must be a strong team player with solid interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently, and be highly motivated.Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Structured finance transactions such as Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO), Asset-backed Securities (ABS) etc. Sun Programmer and Developer certification on the Java 2 platform. Exposure to Business Intelligence software specially, in Business Objects, and BO WEBI SDK. Hands-on experience developing systems using JMS, XML, XSLT, Pega, Workflow and JSR168 Portlet, Vignette Portal. Experience designing and implementing applications against both relational and dimensional data stores. Familiarity with Unix, and Sun Solaris.
