We are currently seeking a Senior Application Systems Analyst/Programmer
Job Summary
Develops or modifies information systems by defining scope and objectives of programs and overseeing projects by providing guidance to other Programmer/Analysts.
Job Responsibility
· Develops programs by analyzing requirements, preparing specifications, designing, coding, testing, debugging and documenting.
· Resolves problems by devising or modifying procedures considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
· Identifies systems requirements by interviewing users, interviewing and selecting vendors (if applicable), analyzing applications, evaluating existing and proposed systems, and recommending solutions.
· Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, forming project team, establishing project budget, developing schedules, assigning, prioritizing and monitoring work, implementing productivity standards, and resolving operations problems.
· Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
· Improves systems performance by investigating problems, developing specifications, identifying trends in technology, and recommending, integrating, and documenting solutions.
· Maintains quality service by establishing, monitoring and enforcing organizational standards.
· Maintains/improves technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, obtaining applicable certification, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies, and participating in cross-departmental task forces.
· Develop technical requirements and applications for automated datasheets using J2EE and Microsoft applications.
· Work with key stakeholders to develop a migration path to implement these datasheets into LabWare LIMs.
· Performs other duties as directed.
· This position reports to the Quality Engineering Manager
Required Skills
Working knowledge of database management software, design specifications and requirements plus ability to develop programs and maintain quality service.Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, develop specifications and document solutions.University Degree (Bachelor's degree) in related discipline.Three years related experience in business programming and/or data processing systems.Strong programming experience and expertise in J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) Experience programming and developing macros in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required for this position. Oracle experience strongly desired Preference given to candidates with experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LabWare or similar)
