Senior Business Analyst (259325-571)

DescriptionThe senior business analyst is the primary interface between the user community and the Information Technology organization. This position will work closely with Product Management and IT to develop, interpret, review, and document business and functional requirements for new and/or enhanced applications. Additional responsibilities include developing a broad understanding of the software products, facilitating large group meetings, preparing for and conducting integration testing, and coordinating and participating in the analysis of changes and enhancements. Required SkillsResponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Lead and coordinate requirements gathering sessions with business team members, users, and subject matter experts Lead the evaluation of business requests to determine feasibility, working with software engineers to define alternatives, and recommending optimal solutions Translate business requirements into conceptual and logical design specifications Prepare requirements, use cases, and design specifications and present for review and distribution while ensuring accuracy and availability to all team members Explain and clarify specifications for project team members. These specifications must adequately support product, training, and development efforts, including quality assurance testing of user requirements Continually keep documentation up to date throughout the development lifecycle Effectively present information and respond to questions from business and IT team members, regardless of the level of knowledge Complete status reports and meeting minutes on a regular basis for distribution to appropriate parties Ensure consistency in the user interface, product design, and the interface modules Plan and execute integration testing Lead user acceptance testing to ensure user needs are met Capture, track, analyze, and communicate requirement change requests, enhancements, and defects Identify, clarify, and recommend solutions to issues and risks impeding progress Identify and resolve in a timely fashion problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components Set priorities which reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities Write concise, logical, grammatically correct routine business correspondence and technical documentation Ability to work effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload. Required ExperienceProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office standard desktop application software is required Proficient skills in oral and written communication and presentations are required Proficient skill in facilitation of requirements and information gathering techniques (i.e. brainstorming, round-robin, etc.) is required Basic understanding of the software development life cycle is required Proficient knowledge of Rational tools, such as ClearCase, RequisitePro, and ClearQuest, is required Knowledge of object-oriented application development principles, theories, and concepts is preferred Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college/university and three years of related experience, OR equivalent years of related experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
