Summary of Duties:



As Senior DSP Technologist within a small dynamic development team, you will assume responsibility for defining and implementing the next generation of audio and speech processing technologies for Jawbone and other product lines. This is a unique opportunity to take up an influential role in an exciting and growing organization.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

· Develop advanced audio and speech processing solutions

· Implement algorithms on leading fixed-point DSP platforms

· Seek out and evaluate complementary 3rd Party technologies

· Test algorithms/solutions over collected databases

· Drive day to day software/technology research efforts toward high quality solutions

· Create and maintain realistic schedules, predict pitfalls, predict new resource needs, and develop better courses of action.

· Collaborate closely with core engineering, product, OEM/vendor teams.

· Report to and communicate regularly with senior management

Skills and Abilities needed:

· MS or PhD in a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

· Must be capable of developing, testing, and optimizing DSP algorithms

· Strong Matlab, C, and Assembly coding skills

· Understanding of fixed-point and real-time implementation issues

· Knowledge of adaptive signal processing and/or speech processing (noise suppression/cancellation, analysis) required

· Self starter who can work effectively with other team members as part of small team focused on results and hitting deadlines.

· Knowledge of Bluetooth desirable.

· Knowledge of acoustics and psycho-acoustics desirable.

Experience with the following is desirable: mobile digital communications technologies; startup environment; technologies incorporated into consumer products.
