Senior Database Administrator

As Senior Oracle Database Administrator you will be responsible for all operations related to managing and maintaining an enterprise-class 24x7x365 database server infrastructure. In this role you will: work with internal department managers regarding problems with and capabilities of internal and production databases; control activities related to database planning and development; perform database software installation and database creation; define and implement data integrity and consistency, database security, recovery and backup procedures; and perform database monitoring and tuning.

 

The ideal candidate should have 6 + years of progressively advanced experience in database administration work with the Oracle RDBMS in a corporate environment. A bachelor’s degree in business or computer science is also required. Other requirements include:

 10G RAC experience Expertise in designing and implementing database architectures in a high availability environmentExpertise in managing mission-critical 24x7x365 databases.Expertise in identifying and resolving performance and scalability bottlenecksExperienced in developing and implementing database capacity plansExperienced in performing effective code reviews when necessarySolid Linux system administration fundamentals as applicable for deploying and maintaining databasesOracle Certified Professional (8i or higher)Experienced with Linux and shell scripting preferredExcellent communication, writing and editing skills.
