Senior Database Engineer

Senior Database Engineer  Full-Time  Santa Clara/San Jose/Mountain View/Bay

 

We are searching for a Senior Database Engineer for a high growth, successful, pre-IPO storage vendor. This is primary, immediate need with a high degree of visibility. Please refer to the job description.   

 

Job Description: This individual is the hands-on principal developer that is architecting, designing, developing and performance tuning the Database subsystem.  .

 

Required Experience: 10+ years developing, and leading the development of database-driven applications with low-latency accesses, and dense data hosting requirements. Strong background in designing and developing enterprise class applications with strong focus on database performance, scalability and high availability.  

 

Required Skills: Strong problem solving skills, high creativity, and the ability to discuss advanced technical concepts. The ability to develop high-quality software with C++, C# and SQL stored procedures. Strong database schema design skills. Strong experience with SQL Server or Oracle, with SQL Server preferred. Experience with database performance analysis and tuning for high throughput and high capacity databases. Database physical tuning, logical table/index tuning, query tuning and optimizing the application code.

 

Desirable Skills: Developing software using Microsoft Visual Studio for Microsoft SQL Server and deep knowledge of the Microsoft Component Object Model. Experience with XML-based data import/export from Microsoft SQL Server, and experience with ADO and .NET are highly desirable.
