Job Description:

 

Coordinate and lead the development of global IT hardware and/or software purchasing strategies for Mentor Graphics. 

 

This includes, but is not limited to: Identifying opportunities to drive cost reduction and increased efficiency across the Mentor supply chain.  Utilizing effective supplier selection and performance management practices to increase supplier performance.  Negotiating favorable contracts and agreements while managing risk. Continually looking for process improvement opportunities and ways to influence positive change. It is expected that the successful candidate partner with Mentor business leaders and their representatives to ensure timely, cost-effective hardware, software and IT consulting solutions. 

Requirements:BA/BS with 6+ years experience or MBA with 4+ years experience.  It is preferable that majority of experience pertains to managing agreements and suppliers for Software, Information Technology Hardware and Consulting/Services.  As a senior global IT commodity manager, candidate must have previous experience leading global or cross-functional project teams to desired results.  It is imperative that the candidate be able to work collaboratively to lead a global commodity team comprised of peers and business unit customers to negotiate supplier agreements in support of Mentor’s needs.  Strong experience negotiating IT related agreement contract terms required.Experience helping develop and manage suppliers to consulting/service statements or work is also a plus.  Candidate should be knowledgeable of consulting terms and conditions in order to facilitate timely contract review/approval working with the Mentor Legal department.  Able to gather and analyze relevant data to make sound recommendations and decisions.  Effectively listen to and partner with key stakeholders/clients to attain the best results for the company. Requires senior level communication/presentation (oral and written).  Demonstrated experience communicating with executive management and role modeling effective business partnering is desired.  Strong PC skills (MS Office/Word, Excel). Experience in SAP or similar ERP environment is a plus.  Ideal candidate will have experience driving supplier performance improvement with global suppliers across multiple geographies.
