Senior J2EE Software Developer

Position Requirements

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required, MS preferred.

Requires 5+ years experience in designing and developing complex J2EE systems and Service Oriented Architectures.



Internal/external client consulting experience.

  Extremely strong communication and teamwork skills.

  Solve complex technical issues and work in a highly-matrixed environment.

  Strong analytical skills.

  Strong object oriented technologies and methodologies background.

Application architectures and design patterns.

Database technologies and Transaction processing (Sybase/DB2 is a plus)

Algorithms and data structures.

Multiple programming platforms (C, C++, Java, .NET).

Experienced in all or most of:  JSP, JSF, Hibernate, Spring, SOAP.

 

 

Position Description

 

Work collaboratively with design analysts, quality assurance analysts, and developers, along with management, on solutions throughout the software development life cycle for developing solutions and enhancements.

Develop solutions for clients, leveraging General-Available code components when possible.

Position’s focus is on Java/J2EE and Object-Oriented (OO) application design and deployment of all the solution components.

Coordinate with Architects, System Engineering, Quality Assurance, Design Analysts and Project Management on the planning and implementation of new features and enhancements, working with external business clients and other internal organizations.

Participate in all phases of development for enhancements and project work.

Work with QA, Performance Engineering, Configuration and Developer management and staff to create solid test plans for Unit & System Testing.

Participate in the planning and installation for all code releases.

Develop solutions, following development and documentation standards, and participate in design reviews, code walkthroughs, documentation reviews, and other activities as part of the SDLC.

Assist staff with production issues and/or coding issues, performing bug fixes and conducting unit testing.

Identify opportunities for improvement and guide junior staff towards improved coding technique.

Present and implement best-practices methods for development of re-usable SOA components within an enterprise development environment

Proactively work with teammates and project managers to meet project goals within expected timelines.
