Title: Software Engineer/Java Developer

As a Software Engineer, you will be extensively involved in participating in the design through implementation of several online products. This is a role where you will be responsible for completing a variety of highly visible projects, solving complex and difficult problems, architecting solutions, and implementing the solutions within a specified time and budget.



Responsibilities will also include:Completing highly visible software development projects, including the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex software systems with new or existing technologies. Assisting with lead generation activities, including scoping and estimating work effort, conducting technical feasibility assessments, evaluating new technologies, developing prototypes or proof concepts, etc. Setting architectural direction for assigned pieces, breaking down the project into smaller pieces, developing specifications, and writing code. Presenting technical issues, solutions, and project status to senior and executive management, both to business and technical stakeholders. Serving as an escalation point for technical problems and maintenance and support activities. Operating independently and collectively within a team to meet project objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in field. 4 or more applicable years of software design and implementation; consulting or professional services experience a plus.

Technically proficient in the following:Java (typically on Windows and/or Solaris) preferably with Financial and banking Industry. Web application servlets (typically running under Tomcat) Experience writing object-oriented server side code (ASP, JSP, PHP, etc.) in conjunction with a Content Management System (CMS) or database (DB) store Common delivery protocols including HTTP, SSL, SMTP, UDP, TCP/IP Guest-facing application experience JDBC or other high-level persistence frameworks; Microsoft SQL Server a plus Building high performance, scalable web applications. Experience designing and building applications with an emphasis on performance, scalability, high-reliability and maintainability. Experience in working with high-traffic, guest-facing application servers and awareness of security considerations. Experience in full life-cycle software development (SDLC). Applicants must be able to work both individually and in a team environment to achieve results in a deadline driven environment. Superior technical, analytical and problem solving skills demonstrated by an ability to resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways and to select best methods and techniques for solving problems. Must be a self-starter that can drive projects forward with minimal management oversight. A strong sense of drive, ownership and a commitment to the user experience. Good understanding of benefits and constraints of current Internet technologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues to a diverse non-technical audience. Ability to clearly communicate project status (progress, task estimations, and risks) . Experience writing technical specifications and driving them through development

Nice to HaveOnline commerce experience C++ and/or C#, Microsoft COM JavaScript & AJAX Perl Experience working with geographically separated projects and teams . Data modeling and schema design. Strong understanding of Financila and banking industry, technologies and protocols .
